Light Chemical Peels
Chemical peeling involves the application of a chemical exfoliant (acid or base) to remove layers of damaged skin.  Our superficial chemical peels are tailored to your skin type.  Whether you are trying to smooth fine lines and wrinkles, improve the texture of your skin, even out skin discoloration, reduce redness or clear acne blemishes, we can come up with a customized treatment plan specifically designed for your skin.

These progressive treatments, in conjunction with a good skin care routine, will dramatically improve your skin health for a more beautiful complexion.

General Procedure - Light (superficial) Chemical Peel
At Marotta Facial Plastic Surgery, we use a combination of different ingredients to perform these peels in the office.  The skin is thoroughly cleansed and degreased.  The agent is applied to the face evenly.  A mild stinging or burning is experienced which abates rapidly.

Recovery - Light (superficial) Chemical Peel
Immediately following the procedure, the skin may appear red.  You may notice some flaking or peeling of the skin over the next 1-3 days.  The underlying skin will appear slightly pink and healthier.  Sunscreen and moisturizers are recommended.  Make-up can be used.  Improvement can be seen after just one peel and continues with subsequent peels, which can be performed weekly.
