Radiesse® is an injectable implant that can be used to smooth moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds around the nose and mouth or shape facial contours. It is one of the best non-surgical forms of facial rejuvenation available today and is capable of producing a phenomenal, immediate improvement in your appearance.
Radiesse® consists of calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres suspended in a gel carrier (water, glycerin, and carboxymethylcellulose). Calcium hydroxylapatite is a mineral component of bone and has been used in the repair of both hard and soft tissue for many years. Radiesse® is a soft substance and is completely biodegradeable. The effects of Radiesse® last about 1 year.
Radiesse® is FDA approved as a safe and effective therapy. For more information on Radiesse®, visit www.radiesse.com
What can Dr. Marotta treat with Radiesse®?
- Nasolabial folds (lines that extend from the corners of the nose to the corners of the mouth)
- Melolabial folds (lines that extend from the corners of the mouth to the sides of the chin)
- Augment the cheeks
- Improve facial contour by filling in depressions or hollow areas
General Procedure
Radiesse® is injected into the area to be treated with a very fine needle resulting in minimal discomfort. Topical anesthetics, ice, or local anesthetics can be used to eliminate the discomfort from injections. Dr. Marotta injects very small amounts at a time to insure a smooth and even distribution.
Recovery
Immediately following injection, an ice pack will be placed on your face to soothe and minimize the potential for bruising or swelling. You may have some redness or swelling at the injection site. This usually dissipates rapidly and most patients return to work following the procedure. The improvement in your appearance is immediate and will last up to a year.
